Abenteuer-Reisen nach Tschernobyl in die Ukraine. Ein Trend? Ein Abenteuer? Ein emotionaler Moment? Gefährlich?

Viele Fragen…

Spezielle Agenturen bieten hierfür spezielle Touren an.

English Report from our hungarian reporter:

Why want people travel to Csernobil?

In 1986, there was a huge disaster in Csernobil.
People here in the news, that the atomic reactor blow up, and kill thousand of people. But not just the detonation was dreadful, after the accident happened, people who live there must spend their days with massive contamination.

But, after 30 years, the Ukraine goverment allow turist, to visit this area. Because the radiancy getting smaller, so we can travel there.
How can we get here? Will we need permisson, to visit the city, the factory?
Many Ukrainan travel agency, mainly in Kiev made tours for this haunted place, you must check which one is good for you.

But, before you start your journey, you must know: However the radiation level is equivalent to one x-ray, you need serious safety requirements. You can move only the selected road, and do not touch anything along the way! This is very important.
There are few more rules, lets see:
– You cant drink alcohol, or take any medicine.
– You must know that is not allowed to put anything to the ground, or sit down, or take something from there.

And of course, you need proper clothes. You must cover your body, that means skirts, short jeans, and opened shoe is not allowed there. And when you exit the zone, you must enter to a radiation test.

At the time, when the accident happened, Chernobyl power plant was on of the largest in the world. Nowadays we know, that the actual crash happened du to a coincidence of several factors. The most important is, that the reactor didnt have an updated security system, and had a low level of automation. According to witnesses the first explosion was followed by a red blaze and the second explosion had a light-blue blaze, after which a mushroom cloud rose above the reactor.

People, who are never saw anything like this cant imagine, how terrible it was. Maybe thats the answer for our question.
We always want to see, what happened before. Maybe, those who are walking there, wants to know how it was. Stepping to the ground and for one moment feel what those who live there. The facts divide upon the number of victims of the Chernobyl crash. Of course, the direct victims were mostly the plant workers as well as the firemen, who received deadly doses of radiation. Most of the direct victims are buried at the Mitino cemetery in Moscow. Each body is sealed in concrete coffin, because of its high radiation. Officially, the Chernobyl disaster affected lives of about 600,000 people.

Nowadays Pripjaty, the town what are made for the workers is a Ghostown. Strange to think, that this place was well-situated, in the age of the chatastrophy. It was near – only 3 kilometers – from the nuclear power plant. The average age of the city inhabitants was, by the time of the accident only 25 years old. Pripyat had all the luxuries of a modern city – a railway station, port, hospital and a fairground. But need only three hour, to became empty and stay forever like this. Pripyat is now a city of ghosts and despite nobody living there, it has its own grace and atmosphere. Pripyat did not end like the nearby villages which were buried under the ground by bulldozers.
